| The Charleston Disc Golf Club is a group of more than 120 individuals that engage in the sport of disc golf at recreational and professional levels of competition. The club is host to both men and women and covers an age spectrum from young to "young at heart." Disc Golf is similar to traditional ball golf, in that a player attempts to complete a hole in as few attempts as possible. In disc golf, however, players throw plastic discs at chained baskets mounted on poles. Just as golf has many clubs for multiple purposes, disc golf has a variety of discs that fly differently based on throwing technique and the profile shape of the disc. |
| The Charleston area has 3 publicly accessible courses: Trophy Lakes on John's Island, Park Circle in North Charleston, and Tidal Creek in West Ashley. These courses are host to several Charleston Disc Golf Club events and provide challenge and entertainment to players of all skill levels.
